AJ’s Electrical are proud to offer Alpha ESS (Energy Storage Systems) to Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty.
The combination of German design standards, Lithium Iron Phosphate battery chemistry, modular expansion and advanced electrical functions makes Alpha ESS a safe, reliable, cost-effective choice for solar energy storage and off-grid home electricity. Both the Alpha ESS Smile5 and Smile S6-HV can AC- and DC-couple to solar arrays or suitable power sources – including the national power grid.
The Alpha ESS units are also serious competitors of UPS’ (uninterruptible power supplies) if used without solar panels.

4.6 kW Hybrid Off-Grid System
The Alpha ESS Smile5 is all you need for a truly off-grid or combination off-grid/mains-connected home. Its high-tech ‘islanding’ function can keep your home’s essential circuits running without interruption in case of a grid power outage.
With the Smile5, it’s possible to directly connect a solar panel array (DC) at the same time as mains AC and solar inverter AC. This flexibility in connectivity makes it perfect for retrofitting to existing off-grid solar panel systems.
The Smile5 comes in a range of battery sizes. Depending on your off-grid energy storage needs, it is expandable up to 60.6 kWh.

Alpha-ESS Smile S6-HV
6 kW Hybrid Off-Grid System
More powerful than its predecessor, the Alpha ESS Smile S6-HV also offers higher efficiency through increased charging capability at high-use times. This energy storage system accepts up to 9 kW of solar panel/photovoltaic cell input while simultaneously outputting 6 kW of power.
Expandable up to 49.2 kWh, this modular outdoor battery & inverter system is perfect for on-grid, off-grid or hybrid use.
The Smile S6-HV has advanced monitoring functions, WIFI and 4G connectivity, and comes with a 5 Year Product Warranty and 10 Year Performance Warranty.

Alpha-ESS Smile B3 Plus
The SMILE-B3-Plus is specially designed for retrofit. This is the perfect solution for someone who already has a solar system with a grid-tied inverter and wants to add battery storage.
While the previous product Smile B3 had a battery capacity of 2.9 kWh, the new Plus version has a 5.04 kWh battery.
It is cost-effective, super easy to install, and capable of scale.
This 3 kW AC-coupled solution with 5.04 kWh built-in battery is available for all retrofit requirements, with a capacity expanded to 30.24 kWh, which is the B3-Plus and 5 additional 5.05 kWh batteries.
The Smile-B3-Plus is perfectly compact, allowing it to fit in confined spaces and power small to medium households. In addition, it includes the AlphaESS 24/7-hour monitoring system to show real-time energy distribution in the home.
